The tile distribution is broken down here into three major fabric categories:

- general oxidised tile, produced locally, within 10km of the site (2,555 fragments, 69 kilos);

- calcite-gritted (shelly) tile, brought to the site from the Northamptonshire-Bedfordshire border, about 30km away (2,381 fragments: 65 kilos);

- grogged tile, mostly produced on site or, if produced off-site, in south-west Northamptonshire (467 fragments: 20 kilos).

The distributions are consistent with the use of the different tile fabrics for specific structural functions in different parts of the villa complex. Note the parity between oxidised and calcite-gritted tile: on most other sites, there is much more oxidised tile than calcite-gritted.
